Course: Outdoor, 25 meter, 6 lane unheated pool, Colorado Starting system, semi-automatic timing.
Eligibility: Open to any swimmer age 14&over eligible to represent the USA, Mexico, or Canada in international competition. All swimmers must be property registered on both the IISA Website AND through the IISA USA Website prior to the entry deadline. Swimmers must properly and completely fill out the medical form and warrant they are fit for competition.
Rules Governing Meet:
- Age as of December 31, 2024 will govern for the entire meet.
- Conduct of the sanctioned event shall conform in every respect to current rules of IISA Swimming including technical and administrative rules.
- The minimum water depth is 3 feet, 0 inches at the start end and 5 feet, 0 inches at the turn end.
- The use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, restrooms, locker rooms or other areas as may be designated by the Meet Director/Meet Referee.
- Swimmers with disabilities are welcome. The swimmer (or swimmers coach) is responsible for notifying the Referee, prior to the competition, of any disability of the swimmer and the requested accommodation. The swimmer/coach shall provide any assistant(s) or equipment (tappers, deck mats, etc.) if required.
- The following medical supervision will be available to athletes participating in the meet: FirstAid, AED, Paramedic Services. All swimmers must submit the IISA Medical form, including an EKG. Please plan ahead to make sure you have the required medical clearances. Those without an approved medical will not be permitted to compete.
- Events are pre-seeded, timed final, functionally seeded and scored separately as indicated under Awards.
- To enter, individuals must submit estimated times for Short Course Meters. A general rule is to add 10% to a swimmers standard pool time to account for the start/turn rules and the temperature of the water.
- The meet will be capped at 250 swimmers.
- Events 500 and longer will be positive check in. Swimmers entering the 1000 Must have completed an Ice Mile under IISA Rules or be allowed entry by appeal to the IISA USA Board. A maximum of 18 swimmers will be accepted into the 1000M event. 1000m and 500m events are subject to the posted cut off times.
- Awards: Medals will be awarded for the top 3 in each event/age group as listed in the final meet information.
- Projected start times are listed in the meet information below. Final start times will be provided in the final meet information.
- Water must be at or below 5c (41F) for swims to be eligible for national or world records. While we anticipate the water temp to be below 41F, that temperature is not guaranteed for this competition
- Swimmers can wear one standard swimming costume made from a FINA approved material, which may not extend past the swimmers knees. In the case of female swimmers, a swimming costume shall not be broader than the swimmer’s shoulders and not above the neck line. Swimmers may also wear one pair of goggles, on standard silicon or latex cap less than 70mlg thick. Bubble caps are not allowed. Greasing is only allowed for chafing purposes. Ear plugs, nose plugs, and mouth guards are allowed. Safety belts are required. Wetsuits, neoprene caps, and anything else to aid in heat retention is specifically prohibited.
Age Rules: All swimmers must be at least 14 years old on the first day of competition. Swimmers age group is determined by their age on December 31, 2024. Swimmers in the 500 must be at least 16 and swimmers in the 1000 must be at least 18 on the day of competition.
Entry Fees: Individual Event: $35.00 through 12/1/23 and $50 from 12/2/23 through entry deadline. Meet Surcharge (includes relays): $150.00 through 12/1/23 and $175 from 12/2/23 Entry fees must be paid at time of entry. NO REFUNDS.
Entry Deadline: Entries open 10/1/23, fees increase on 12/1/23, and entries close on 12/15/23 or when the event cap is reached. Late entries will only be accepted on a space available basis. Late entry deadline is 12/30/23
Entries: There is a two-step entry process. All entries must first be submitted via IISA USA Website registration AND subsequently via link on the IISA Website.
Cut off Times: Cut off time for the 1000 Free is 22 minutes, cut off time for the 500 Free is 11 minutes. Swimmers in the 1000 not at 500m by 11 minutes and swimmers in the 500 not at 250m by 6.5 minutes will be stopped.
